§ 10-69. Vehicles prohibited in certain areas; exceptions
Latest version.
(a) It shall be unlawful for any person to drive or propel along and over any sidewalk situated in the town or upon and along
the strand or beach front of the Atlantic Ocean or upon any area designated as a public park or playground any automobile
or other motor propelled vehicle.
(b) Handicapped vehicles less than five hundred (500) pounds clearly licensed by the state and approved by the chief of police
by licensing the vehicle after first making application and being approved as a handicapped necessity for ingress and egress
to the strand are exempt from this section.
(c) Violation. Any person who shall violate this section shall be subject to a civil citation in the amount of fifty dollars ($50.00)
for the first offense; second offense, shall subject the offender to a misdemeanor charge as by law prescribed.
