§ 18-51. Regularity of operation

  • Every person having complied with the provisions of this article and obtained an operator's license, as provided for in sections 18-46 through 18-48, shall operate such taxicab in such business with reasonable regularity. The operator's license of every such operator shall be subject to revocation if such operator fails to operate such taxicab for any period of sixty (60) days. Every operator of a taxicab who fails to operate the same as herein provided over any period of sixty (60) days shall be given ten (10) days' notice to appear before the council to show cause why such license should not be revoked. If, upon such hearing, it shall appear that such taxicab is not being operated in the interest of the convenience and necessity of the public and not being operated with reasonable regularity, the council is authorized to revoke such license.
