§ 6-16. Establishment and duties of bureau of fire prevention

(a) The Fire Prevention Code, adopted as provided in section 6-31, shall be enforced by the bureau of fire prevention which bureau is hereby established and which shall be operated under the supervision of the chief of the fire department.

(b) The chief of the fire department, with the approval of the town council, shall designate an officer or member of the fire department, who shall hold this office at the pleasure of the chief of the fire department and the town council.
